Describe EPMG's recruitment process.

More than 90% of EPMG physicians are residency-trained and/or board certified in Emergency Medicine. We have a full-time staff of recruiters who specialize in Emergency Medicine, and have an established relationship with almost all EM Residency Training programs. EPMG has an extensive process to confirm training, experience and reference prior to completing the hiring of a clinician, including our credentialing process and a background investigation.

How does EPMG ensure the ongoing education of its providers?

Monthly Staff Meetings- At each meeting, problematic cases with educational benefit are discussed, radiographic discrepancies are covered, and any relevant ED issues are addressed.

Online completion of bi-monthly Cases From the Front Line, based on actual cases, is required.

Attendance at our High Risk Emergency Medicine course, developed by EPMG to be a comprehensive review of relevant high-risk topics in EM, is required.

Our National Emergency Medicine Board Review is the most successful board preparation course in the nation. The Core Curriculum for Emergency Medicine is easily adapted from this course for local education of physicians, residents, medical students and nursing staff.

Why does EPMG concentrate on Emergency Medicine?

The reason is focus. Today we operate in a far more competitive environment than even a few years ago and the best companies devote all their energy to what they do best. Emergency Medicine is what we do best.

What are the EPMG qualifications for an ED Director and how are they chosen?

All ED Directors for EPMG have previous directorship experience or go through the EPMG Scholars Program in which physicians attend administrative courses to prepare for directorship responsibilities.

How does EPMG provide Quality Improvement?

EPMG's Quality Program continues to identify opportunities for our physicians to remain on the cutting edge in quality and performance. Critical to our mission is serving our partner hospitals with expertise, ingenuity and accountability in all aspects of our business. EPMG will continue to strive to provide solutions to ensure that the appropriate assessment of quality takes place in your Emergency Department and that we remain strong partners in that endeavor, including the implementation and monitoring of core measures.
