Michael Osmundson, MD, MBA, FACEP is the EPMG Chief Operating Officer. Mike joined EPMG from Georgia Emergency Physician Specialists, LLC in Savannah, where he served as president since 2003.
Mike obtained his MD at UCLA and his Emergency Medicine Residency program was conducted at Carolinas Medical School in Charlotte, N.C. He was awarded an MBA at the Stetson School of Business at Mercer University.
During this tenure as president of Georgia Emergency Physician Specialists, his hospital has seen a rise in ED visits from 40,000 a year to 88,000, with the designation of a Level 1 Trauma Center. Mike is noted as being an excellent leader of physicians with an acute sense of fiscal responsibility for his group. He has significant experience in negotiations with hospital administrators and insurance companies. One of his strengths is in designing compensation models that align incentives between emergency physicians, hospitals and patients. He is charged with the successful execution of EPMG's strategic plan.
