Maya Heinert, MD, FAAP, attended medical school at Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit and completed her residency and fellowship training at Children's Hospital of Michigan / Detroit Medical Center. She is board certified in Pediatrics and Pediatric Emergency Medicine. Dr Heinert has served with EPMG since 1995, with prior leadership roles at Children's Hospital Central California in Madera, California; University Medical Center in Las Vegas, Nevada; and the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, Virginia. She currently serves as Vice President of Operations for Emergency Medicine Physicians, Western Region, and as Director of Quality Management for Emergency Physicians Medical Group. Dr Heinert serves on the Board of Directors for Physicians Specialty Limited, Risk Retention Group (PSLRRG), EMP's medical malpractice insurance company. She is an attending physician at Children's Hospital Central California in the Department of Emergency Medicine. Dr Heinert resides in Sacramento with her husband and two children.
