At EPMG, we encourage leadership from within. Clinicians who rise to the challenge may participate in our Scholar's Program, an intensive year long leadership training program.

 

Opportunities for leadership and advancement exist at each of our sites and in the organization as a whole.

Scholars Program

The Scholars Program is EPMG's leadership training program. It is designed primarily for EPMG physicians who are interested in assuming a leadership position. While our medical education has prepared us to manage our patients' clinical needs very well, managing a peer group is quite another matter and the Scholars Program strives to develop that skill. We work together as a team in developing the expertise of leadership.

 

After an intensive self-assessment module, we branch out into personnel management. We train our scholars how to develop an effective team, and how to communicate more effectively with everyone.

 

The Scholars

  • Learn the business from the ground up, spend time with the coders, the billers, the physician recruiters, etc.
  • Receive extensive training in risk management, contract negotiation, project management, effective communication, public speaking and media relations.
  • Learn how to read the financial statements to determine the fiscal health of their contract.
  • Learn how to work with profiling data in a worksheet and understand the integrity with which our data management department functions.
  • Concentrate on self-management by learning what their dominant values and behaviors are. They discover what their emotional competencies are and where their work can be focused.
