St. Joseph Mercy Ann Arbor Hospital is a 537-bed teaching hospital located on a 340-acre campus in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Saint Joseph Mercy Health System has been spotlighted as one of the few health systems in the United States that uses a computerized order entry system, a key component that improves patient care and drastically reduces medication errors. The newly renovated emergency department is now a 77-bed, 42,000 square foot Level I Trauma Center. With an air ambulance service, this trauma center treats approximately 90,000 patients annually between the ED, the adult and pediatric ambulatory care centers, chest pain observation unit, and brand new Senior ER. The convenience of a centrally located triage between the pediatric UC, adult UC, and Level I emergency department ensures effective patient flow promoting excellence in patient care. The ED has an average of 68 hours of physician coverage daily. There is an additional 48 hours of nurse practitioner or physician assistant coverage daily, working the fast track and ED. Clinicians utilize the EMR FirstNet®.
