Saint Joseph Mercy Livingston Hospital is licensed for 136 beds. This is Livingston County’s only full-service hospital and was awarded the Truven Health Analytics 100 Top Hospitals in 2011. The facility offers the latest technology with a highly skilled and compassionate medical staff. The facility has upgraded to provide wireless bedside registration technology and a Hazardous Materials tent on site. Additionally, the St. Joseph Mercy Health System utilizes an electronic ordering system which helps improve patient care and reduce medication errors.

The emergency department sees approximately 31,000 patients annually. An emergency observation unit provides specialized care and monitoring for cardiac/respiratory patients and senior patients receive dedicated care in the brand new Senior ER. The department is currently under renovation with a new design, which will include more beds. The ED physician coverage totals 24 hours daily and experienced EM physician assistants or nurse practitioners offer an additional 26 hours of coverage per day. Clinicians utilize the EMR FirstNet®.
