The emergency department at St. Mary Medical Center opened a brand new emergency department in January 2011 and is a designated Level II Trauma Center. The current annual volume of the 22-bed department is approximately 40,000 visits. The Emergency Department’s and Cardiac Catheterization (Cath) Lab team time is consistently below the recommended door-to-balloon standard in patient care. Currently there are 52 hours of physician coverage per day and physicians work 10 and 12-hour shifts. Clinicians utilize the EMR Epic™.

Hobart, Indiana is located 15 miles northwest of Valparaiso University and only 35 miles south of Chicago. This Midwest hideaway has twenty-one beautiful parks located throughout the city and a large regional shopping mall that sits at its southern boundary, a historic downtown in the Lakefront District on the shores of the dazzling 250-acre Lake George.
