Horace Stevens, MD-Honored by NAACP and EPMG

06-28-2010

EPMG Physician Horace Stevens, MD, was recently honored by the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People.  The NAACP strives towards ensuring the political, educational, social, and economic equality of rights of all persons and to eliminate racial hatred and racial discrimination.

Dr. Stevens

Dr. Stevens has worked in Parkview's Emergency Room from 1962 to the present, and in Community Hospital of San Bernardino's Emergency Room from 1994 to the present.  Since 1978, he has served as Medical Director for the American Red Cross, and is a Board Member Emeritus.

Dr. Stevens has mentored young doctors, medical assistant students have served externships in his practice, and he has been an encouragement and advisor to countless young musicians and anyone in need of spiritual reinforcement.  His life is characterized by both an open heart and an open door.  He has been known to give medical services when he knew he would never see repayment.  His work in Emergency Rooms probably best characterizes him, because in a crises, Dr. Stevens is one of the first people you will want to see and often the last person you will need to see.  EPMG is proud to have Dr. Stevens among our physicians and to honor his lifetime achievements in medicine and in the community.
