Mercy San Juan Medical Center is located a mature residential area of northeast Sacramento known as Carmichael.  In 1999 the hospital underwent a dramatic renovation, to include a Level II Trauma Center with a state-of-the-art Imaging Department, and a new 31 bed emergency department.  An additional 180-bed patient care tower is scheduled for completion in 2009.
